The Big Brothers Big Sisters organization is making it easier for you to help local kids, even if you have a busy schedule.
For the first time, the organization is partnering with a local school to set up mentorships. Starting next month, volunteers will be able to visit students at Clark Elementary during their lunch hour.
The volunteers can help with homework, do art projects, or just play games. And it takes just one hour a week.
"This is an opportunity for people who may say, 'I don't have the time after work to commit two or three hours a week but I do have one lunch over the week I can give up over the course of the calendar year,'" said BBBS volunteer Dave Koehn.
Clark Elementary already has ten kids ready to be matched with mentors.
