FBI Charges Man Accused of UVa Gun Hoax

The man police say is behind the gun hoax at UVa Wise is facing federal charges.

Investigators say Bryant Alexander Hairston called police on January 23, claiming to see an armed gunman on the school’s campus.

UVa Wise was placed on lockdown status because of Hairston’s 911 call.

Hairston was charged on Monday with knowingly making false, fictitious and fraudulent statements and representations.
