RICHMOND, Va. (AP) - A land transfer that's part of a proposed deal to bring the Washington Redskins' training camp to Richmond is up for a vote by City Council.
The council plans to vote Monday evening on whether to transfer a school property to the city's Economic Development Authority.
The EDA would lease the land to Bon Secours Health Systems. Bon Secours would build a hospital expansion at the site.
Under the deal, Bon Secours also would build a $6.4 million sports medicine facility on state property behind the Science Museum of Virginia that the Redskins would use during the three-week camp.
Councilman Marty Jewell tells the Richmond Times-Dispatch that he still has reservations about the deal. He plans to ask the council to delay the vote until Dec. 3.
