Franklin Notches Career Point 1,000 in Win Over BC

The Virginia women’s basketball team defeated Boston College, 69-57, Thursday night in Charlottesville.
Ataira Franklin became the 29th player in Virginia program history to score 1,000 points in her Cavalier career when she hit a three-pointer with 6:56 remaining in the game.
The Cavaliers held a 33-27 lead at halftime. Coming out of the break, Boston College did not score a field goal for the first 12:51 of the second period, starting the half going 0-for-16 from the field, allowing Virginia to cement a double-digit lead.
Franklin ended the game with 18 points, going 4-for-8 from three-point range. She also had five rebounds and two assists.
Sarah Imovbioh went 5-for-6, scoring 13 points with nine rebounds and four assists. Simone Egwu scored 12 points with six rebounds and three assists. Kelsey Wolfe scored 10 points with two assists.
The Cavaliers will go on the road, playing at Wake Forest on Sunday, Jan. 27 at 2 p.m.
