On Friday, the Albemarle boy's soccer team will take to their home field for the first time since winning a state championship. The defending AAA champs host Massaponax 7 p.m.

The Patriots have already played two games on the road, winning one and tying one.

With twelve seniors gone from last year's squad, this is a very different Albemarle team than last year's. But they say they learned what it takes to win a title, and that will help them as they try to repeat as champions.

"Just team chemistry, and just hard work throughout the entire season, home and away," senior Matt Sheffield says of what made them great last year. "We've just got to treat each game like is the last one."

"Last year we had, I think great team chemistry, great ball movement, and like I said great players," says senior Andrew Solomon. "They always knew what to do, where to put the ball. That's just something that we need, they had more experience so we need to work on that this year. And then hopefully we'll do well this year again."
