No matter where you went Tuesday you might have heard some buzz about the split of reality TV stars Jon and Kate Gosselin. For many people they are better known as mom and dad on the show "Jon and Kate Plus 8".

Fans got to know the Gosselin family five years ago with the highly publicized birth of their sextuplets. The novelty of trying to raise them along with two older twin sisters landed them their own reality TV show. Now their fans will watch the family make reality TV history once again but, this time for being the first celebrity couple to get divorced while the cameras are still rolling. This big announcement continues to get a lot of mixed reactions from fans around Charlottesville.

Jon and Kate continue to be criticized by a lot of people for deciding to keep the show on the air. Many critics say the reported $75,000 they earn per episode is not worth having private family drama aired in such a public way. One local mom says if she were in their shoes she wouldn’t want to have her own TV show right now.

An estimated ten point six million people watched Monday night’s episode of “Jon and Kate plus 8”.
