The police chief at the center of the Trayvon Martin shooting has been fired.

Sanford Chief Bill Lee was let go Wednesday. The city manager issued a press release saying the decision was made because Lee did not have the trust of elected officials or the community.

Lee came under fire when Sanford police did not arrest George Zimmerman in the shooting of Trayvon Martin.
