Whitney Houston, Superstar of Records and Films, Dies
Whitney Houston, who ruled as pop music's queen until her majestic voice and regal image were ravaged by drug use, erratic behavior and a tumultuous marriage to singer Bobby Brown, has died. She was 48.

She was a fabulou singer BEFORE the drugs took over. I don't pretend to know her or what she was going through but she was a drug addict, plain and simple. Drugs do NOT discriminate and regardless of the fact she WAS an amazing singer and did unite people, she still died a drug addict, and that is very very sad.

Remember that time she was a crack-head on national TV? And remember that time Bobby Brown (yes, Bobby Brown ) divorced her because "her addictions were too great."? And that time (<48 hours before her death) she was spotted all incoherent in public? Turns out drugs suck and lead to your death, Antoinette. Even if you once had a great voice.

This country loves to pander and swoon over the Hollywood types that periodically eliminate thmselves with drugs and alcohol. Small wonder the children get more debased with each new generation.
