Sex Abuse Video Tape Of Child Turned In To Police

September 27, 2007

It's thirty minutes of horror caught on tape. Detectives in Nye County Nevada released these stills from a graphic video of an adult male sexually abusing this little girl.

"If you could imagine the absolute worst thing that could happen to a little girl at the hands of an adult male, that has happened and beyond" said Detective David Boruchowitz of the Nye County Sheriff's Department.

Not in the practice of going public with a victim of a sexual assault, investigators say this time they had run out of options, and were afraid they were running out of time.

"We have absolutely no choice. She's our only link to help identify the perpetator" said Boruchowitz.

They don't know if that suspect is related to the victim because so far, he's only been captured on screen. The tape surfaced in Pahrump, Nevada, about 60 miles west of Las Vegas. A man claims he found it in the desert. Police don't think he made the tape. But it's left that community shaken.

"Obviously somebody knows something because it's local and I just wish somebody would come out and say what they know" said Elona Skadberg, a Pahrump resident.

The child's dress and the model of the tv in the background have led investigators to believe the tape could be 3 or 4 years old but say even now, her life could be in danger.

"A picture is worth a thousand words. It will, getting it out there, help identify this child" said Wayne Promisel of the Child Welfare League of America.

Since her picture was released investigators have been sifting through hundreds of new leads but still don't know who or where she is.
