The annual tradition of the Blessing of the Hounds at Grace Episcopal Church in Keswick took place this morning. About a hundred people showed up to take part in the event which has been going on since 1929. Church members bless the animals before the hounds are turned loose to catch foxes.
"It is a mix of old friends and new, some people have come here for sixty years. We take up a collection and one-third always goes to an animal rescue humane society," said Julie Norton.
This year's money raised is going to the Charlottesville-Albemarle SPCA and the Reading for the Blind and Dyslexic.
