The Richmond parent of Dominion Virginia Power said the company broke an unofficial record “winter” one–hour peak demand Tuesday in Virginia and parts of North Carolina beating an old record set before Christmas.
The company's all–time record peak demand is 17,084 megawatts set during the summer of 2002.
Tuesday's meter read 16,689.
