Stefan Wohl was charged with reckless conduct and discharging contaminated waste to cause water pollution.
Officials say Wohl emptied the contents of the Dave Matthews Band bus's septic tank onto a tour boat carrying more than 100 people.
He could face up to one year in prison and fines up to $10,000.
The state attorney general's office is already suing Wohl as well as the band.
