A hearing was held on Friday, January 28th for Anthony Dale Crawford, the Manassas man charged with killing his wife in a Charlottesville motel.
Crawford did not appear in court, however, as prosecutors requested that his hearing be continued so they could have more time to process evidence in the case. Several DNA lab results still have not come back and they say those results are vital to the case.
"We would like to see the results of (the DNA) before we move forward with any of the judicial proceedings; and about mid-February is when I'm told those lab results will be in so that's why the continuance is occurring," said Prosecuting Attorney Jon Zug.
Crawford is charged in the November 2004 shooting death of his wife at the Quality Inn on Emmett St. He managed to evade police for four days until they finally caught up with him in Jacksonville, Florida.
Crawford's new hearing is scheduled for March 25th.
