After months of planning, the Lawn has been lit on the grounds of the University of Virginia.
The Lighting of The Lawn is an annual event that illuminated the Rotunda
and the surrounding lawn on the grounds.
The idea for the event sparked back in 2001, when students decided to find a way to celebrate together before everyone goes home for the holidays.
Now, the event is as successful as ever, expecting crowds of between eight and ten thousand people.
This year, celebrating it's 7th year.
