Andrew Alston to be Sentenced

Updated: Wed 7:41 PM, Feb 16, 2005

A jury in November sentenced Andrew Alston to three years in prison for the voluntary manslaughter of Walker Sisk.

At final sentencing Judge Edward Hogshire can choose to impose either the jury's recommendation or a reduced sentence.

"As far as I'm concerned, they have to at least give what the jury[stated]; if he reduces it all then it's going to be hard to accept by a lot of people and it's going to make people question the justice system I think," said Captain Jeff Snead of the Seminole Trial Fire Department where Sisk was a volunteer.

Sisk was stabbed more than 20 times after an altercation with Alston on the corner in November 2003.

Prosecutors had sought a second degree murder verdict which carries a 40 year prison sentence.
