Charlottesville Police issued a warrant for grand larceny against Raymond Rayshawne Carter after a theft at Glassner's Jewelers last Friday, February 11th.

Police say the man had asked to see some engagement rings and then took off with three diamonds.

Subsequently, on Valentine 's Day a woman stopped into Glassners and asked to have two diamond rings resized.

The rings turned out to be two of the three that had been stolen.

The woman had no knowledge of the larceny, but evidence pointed to Carter.

He turned himself in on Wednesday, February 16th and returned the third stolen ring. He was released on a five thousand dollar bail.
