A round of promotions occurred Friday, February 18th at the Charlottesville Police Department. Chief Timothy Longo presented the biggest honor to Sergeant Ronnie Roberts who after 30 years with the force was promoted to Lieutenant.
"Serving the people in Charlottesville, it's a wonderful place to work. Obviously a number of people in the community I went to school with them and worked with them on various projects and I look forward to serving them in a different capacity within the organization," said now Lt. Roberts.
Others were honored for their dedication to the force, some serving the city for 15 and 25 years. Detective Michael Gore and Detective Gary Dillon were both promoted to Sergeants.
