Do you know what happens if you are seriously injured in a rural area? Before, it may have taken hours to reach a hospital, but now help is just a computer screen away.

Advanced Telecommunication was just one of the many attractions at the InfoFair hosted at the Claude Moore Health Sciences Library on Wednesday, February 23rd. Exhibits included PDAs that store reference books and link directly online. A physician can now double-check a prescription immediately with the help of this pocket PC.

Most of the technology is still new but one vender suggested using current hand-held video cameras.

"You can take movies, make quick recordings, if you want to snap a photo and then make a reference as to what you just shot for doctors more importantly, that's what they might be using it for" said Matt Beyer, Product Advisor for CRUTCHFIELD.
