Several local public schools are being honored by the Board of Education for raising the achievement of economically disadvantaged students and meeting or exceeding the objectives of the No Child Left Behind Act.
By maintaining high math and English test scores, these schools received the Title One "Distinguished School" Award.
Schools in Albemarle County honored were Brownsville, Crozet, Stony Point and Woodbrook Elementary. In the city of Charlottesville, Greenbrier Elementary received the award and in Augusta County the schools were Edward G. Clymore and Wilson Elementary.
