Good news for those interested in buying their first home.

Charlottesville's Piedmont Housing Alliance has been granted more than $6 million in low-interest financing from the Virginia Housing Authority.

The money will help finance low-interest home loans for moderate to low-income families purchasing their first home. It will also help qualifying residents with down payment and closing costs.

Anyone interested in the program can contact the housing alliance at 434-817-2436.
