Northwest to Provide More Service at CHO

Tuesday, January 4, airport officials announced Northwest Airlines will resume non-stop flights from CHO to its main hub, Detroit Metro Airport.

Northwest will add to the three airlines already at CHO. Those are US Airways Express, Delta Air Lines and United Airlines.

The two new flights will begin April 4 and will increase to three in August. They'll depart at 6 a.m. and 5 p.m. According to airport officials, the new option should provide more travel opportunities for passengers.

"Our business and leisure travelers will now have the ability to connect to more than 550 daily flights on Northwest Airlines to more than 120 non-stop destinations in the United States, Asia and Europe," says Albemarle County's Bob Tucker.

The airline will operate its service at CHO with its partner Mesaba Airlines. Each plane can hold up to 34 passengers and the airline says ticket prices will be competitive.

If you are interested in booking a Northwest flight from CHO to Detroit, you can go to their website at www.nwa.com or call their reservation line at 1-800-225-2525.
