Charlottesville police say they have arrested 22-year-old David Delong Gerald after he robbed two UVa students and shot one in the leg.

This happened on February 18, along the 300 block of 15th Street Northwest.

It's just one incident in a string over the last several weeks. Since Saturday night, there has been one attempted robbery, three robberies, and a sexual assault. One robbery occurred on UVa grounds, the others nearby. UVa campus police are urging students to be cautious and report any suspicious activity.

City police are now trying to figure out if the latest incidents are linked to the man they now have behind bars. Gerald faces multiple charges, including robbery and malicious wounding.
