UVA's spring break starts March 4, but some kids are ditching the beach for the book, the Book of Hope that is.
Eight students from the Chi Alpha Christian Fellowship are heading to poverty-stricken Guatemala to hand out the Book of Hope. The book is an age appropriate version of the Gospel that touches on subjects teenagers struggle with.
The students are opting for this trip because they realize there's more to life than just a good tan.
"I think many people use their spring break to say it's all about me," said Peter Bulette of the Chi Alpha Christian Fellowship. "And our hope is for our students to see that spring break is not all about me, but there's a big world out there with a lot of needs. And we want to be a part of helping make a difference in the world."
