Jackson P. Burley Middle School held a celebration to mark the 1954 Brown v. Board of Education ruling on Tuesday, March 8.

Its current students and faculty honored former graduates and teachers from the time of the decision.

The event included a luncheon, an unveiling of a school mural, and a proclamation reading. The former students thought it was a great experience to come together after all these years.

Class of 1952 Graduate, Richard Monroe says, "It's an experience I would not trade for the world. I loved every minute of it...the teachers, students, and everyone else."

Mary Nightengale, a Class of 1960 Graduate says, "I loved it. I feel great!"
