Margaret Rice laughs as she watches a preview of herself in the hot seat for Tuesday March 15th's episode of 'Who Wants To Be a Millionaire.'
Margaret, a huge fan of the show, tried out last July on a whim. After months of not hearing back, the UVA nurse thought her shot was over, but in October she received a call from the show's producers.
"The call came around friends at work, so I could be excited around people right at the beginning," she said.
That one call sent Margaret into a whirlwind of preparations.
"It's only about two or three weeks notice and you didn't know what to study and you didn't know what to wear," Rice added.
Despite her anxiety, Margaret took the seat during the November taping and gave it her best. So how hot is that seat?
Commented Rice, "You're mind is racing and you're not sure you'll be the same person as you are when you're not in the hot seat and everyone is watching."
Since the show's taping, the question everyone's been asking is 'How much did she win?'
Rice said, "I just tell them we had to agree not to say, and a lot of them say I hope you made at least 32 [thousand]."
Her lips may be sealed on that question, but she can tell us what she would do with the money.
"The first thing I'd do is [go] hang-gliding and I would do work on the house," she said.
But is that her final answer? Stay tuned...
