Carpenter Killed in Ivy

Ronald Buckley, a 60-year-old carpenter, died in a construction accident in Albemarle County on Thursday, January 25th.

County police say that at about 10 a.m. a large load of plywood fell on the construction worker.

Buckley was working on a residence on Hidden Valley Road off of Route 682 in Ivy. According to police, a floor joist gave way and more than 40 sheets of plywood fell on the carpenter who was working in the basement.

Buckley was pronounced dead at the scene by Western Albemarle Rescue Squad.
