If your child goes to, or would like to go to Virginia Tech, you may want to start saving a little bit of extra money. The school in Blacksburg will increase its in-state tuition by 9.2 percent for the upcoming school year.

The $540 hike will put tuition at $6,378. Prices for out-of-state undergrads are also going up. Those living on campus will now pay just under $23,000.
