The Virginia House of Delegates has passed legislation to reduce the state sales tax on groceries starting this July 1.
The tax will drop from four percent to2.5 percent.
The measure has won bipartisan support since Governor Warner submitted it as part of his budget amendments in December. A similar measure won unanimous final Senate passage on Monday.
