Some shoppers and employees at a Dollar General in Crozet were stunned when a car slammed into the store on Monday, March 21st.
Witnesses said the driver of a Kia Rio was preparing to park her car in front of the Dollar General when her foot slipped off the brake and onto the gas.
The car went through a glass window and into the store, causing at least $5,000 worth of damage to the building and $3,500 worth of damage to the vehicle.
An employee said she was in shock when it happened. "I was working the register and there were a few people in line and we heard glass breaking and saw there was a car in the store. The people that were in line just froze."
The driver was charged with reckless driving. She was shaken up, but officials said no one was injured.
