Several city leaders gathered downtown to welcome a new financial company on Friday, April 1. Silvercrest Asset Management LLC has made its first move outside of New York City. The company has acquired the Charlottesville-based Heritage Financial Management.

Moffett Cochran, SIlvercrest's CEO and a UVA graduate, played a part in the new location, which is on 610 East High Street.

Vice-Mayor Kevin Lynch hopes the merger will provide locals with more investment options. "It's good for Charlottesville because financial services is a clean industry, it brings good people to Charlottesville and its helping Charlottesville people manage their money," he said.
