Two Charlottesville businesses were broken into over the weekend, and police are still searching for suspects.
Thieves broke into the 'Wayside Take-Out and Catering' on Jefferson Park Avenue Sunday night, March 3. Charlottesville police said the manager discovered 20 pounds of hamburger, 15 pounds of block cheese, two bunt cakes, a case of fish and a case of foot long hotdogs were stolen. The thief broke a side window to enter the store and also damaged the cash register.
Police say thieves also broke into the 'Cville Coffee Shop' on Harris Street that same night. They caused over $300 worth of damage trying to get in through a side door. They stole an undisclosed amount of money from four different cash registers.
