The new students attending UVA this fall will have one thing in common, and that is diversity.
The almost 6,000 students who survived the competitive admissions process include 1,013 African Americans, 1,781 Asian Americans and 828 international students. All are increases from the previous year.
The University has also expanded its financial aid program, “Access UVA.” Currently, only 25 percent of UVA undergraduates receive financial aid. It is determined to increase this figure.
