Two groups are teaming up to bring students the opportunity to learn the in's and out's of one of the fastest growing businesses---the music industry.
Starting this fall CATEC is going to start offering a music technology and production program for students in Albemarle County and Charlottesville.
They'll be doing it with the help of the Music Resource Center in downtown Charlottesville.
Officials say with this new program, students wont have to travel to Los Angeles or New York to learn the skills they need.
"This isn't just about exploring music its about exploring music technologies. Its about exploring the industry and what opportunities there are for employment" said Darah Bonham, Director of CATEC.
This new program is going to be very competitive in it's first year.
The initial class that starts this fall will only have room for twenty students.
To apply students should contact their high school counselor.
