Members of the Blue Ridge Disc Golf Club turned out Saturday morning to Walnut Creek Park for their 4th annual Ice Bowl.
The Ice Bowl is a series of tournaments held across the country, all to benefit charity.
"Five dollars from everybody's entry fee today is going to The Arc of the Piedmont," explained club Secretary Brian Sward. "Everybody was required to bring two canned goods and for every additional canned good they also get a mulligan. So they get to re-throw one of their throws for every extra canned good."
Those canned goods will go to the Blue Ridge Area Food Bank.
In its fourth year, the Ice Bowl has now brought in more than $1 million for charities nationwide.
