Over in Albemarle County, it's a busy night for officers. They're investigating a shooting that occurred after what may have been a robbery. It happened around 7:00pm on the 400 block of Premiere Court tonight. Police said they received a call for shots fired with and a man lying on the ground. Once on the scene, police were not able to find a victim. However, they did find a couple shell casings.

"When I was at the light, I heard a pop-pop over behind the buildings. I am not from here, so I did not know if there was a bank there. That's what I immediately thought. Pop-pop it sounded like a gun," said "Mary," a witness at the scene.

"I heard knock-knock, he asked me for a ride, and said he just got shot at. I said I can not use the company truck and all, but I know this girl who stays at the motel," said Nick Jenkins, also a witness at the scene.

Police did go to a nearby hotel to question several people in the area, but did not find sufficient evidence to make an arrest. If you have any information, you're asked to call Crimestoppers at (434) 977-4000.
