Traffic on Louisa Road was held up for more than an hour after a motorcycle driver hit a car in a head on collision.

Witnesses told police that they believe the motorcyclist was driving up to 100 miles an hour.

Police are saying the motorcyclist is at fault and will be charged with reckless driving.

"He entered a right hand curve and went across the double lines," said Corporal Glenn Fink of the Albemarle County Police Department. "He struck a Dodge compound car that was traveling east bound."

The motorcyclist and the driver of the car were both taken to the hospital; no one was seriously injured.
