Dozens of students moving out donated furniture and many other items to the Salvation Army today. It's all part of an effort between the organization and the University's Community Relations Office.
This is the third year for the off-grounds recycling program, but the first where a truck collected at specific sites and times. University officials believe it's a win-win situation for all.
"Number one is that the community, the neighborhoods, they won't be trashed up with a lot of debris, but most importantly is to give to the Salvation Army and those people in need," said community outreach officer, Danny Wilmer.
University officials said two and a half truck loads of items were collected from the program.
