There is another candidate running for the 57th District House of Delegates seat.
Local businessman Tom McCrystal plans to run for the seat, saying he is up to the challenge.
As the only Republican in the race, he will face the winner of the Democratic Primary. McCrystal believes his party affiliation will work in his favor.
"A moderate Republican working inside the majority caucus can get a lot more done than a Democrat is going to be able to do," he explains.
