With summer around the corner, experts are saying it's time to have your car serviced.
"By the way of analogy, in several senses a finely tuned car is like a human body in tip-top shape and good health," said John B. Townsend II, Manager of Public and Government Affairs, AAA Mid-Atlantic. "Just like the body, the car sends warning signals before trouble comes."
Cars need special treatment, whether it's washing and waxing, or just changing the oil every 3,000 miles.
"Just take care of things like your engine coolant, your transmission fluid, fuel filter, air filter, and the cabin air filter," said Ali Ansari, Jiffy Lube Regional Manager.
With regular car maintenance, cars are able to last 37 years like Kimberly Dean's 1968 Chevy Truck.
"It's been in the family since 1968," said Dean. " I've owned it for the past 23 years and for general maintenance just change the oil every six thousand miles, flush the radiator, and check the tires."
Here are some tips in keeping your car running throughout the summer:
1. Change Engine and Motor Oil
2. Check Tire Pressure
3. Have your Cooling and Air Conditioning Systems Checked
4. Have Regular Maintenance scheduled for your vehicle
