For fans of film noir and the black and white photo, this might be the end of an era.
Kodak has announced it will stop making black and white photo paper. Kodak said the sale of the paper is declining about twenty-five percent every year. Kitty Wray from Richmond Camera, says the age of black and white photos will be gone, but not forgotten.
"I think film is much like the VCR, in the fact that 20 years ago everybody said the VCR was going to be [gone, and then there was] Beta, and then they had the big LPs. [But] the VCR is still around," explained Wray.
The discontinuation is part of a three-year overhaul at Kodak that plans to cut about 15,000 jobs by 2007.
