Fundraising for Police K-9

Video will be available shortly.

June 24, 2005

Each day they are on the streets to protect and serve. But we're not talking about the policemen, but their dogs. That's why a fundraiser to help surrounding county dogs to receive bulletproof vests as well as hot dogs, which are controlled air coolant devices for use in police vehicles, was planned for this weekend.

The fundraiser will take place in the Fashion Square Mall parking lot tomorrow.

Since the 9-11 attacks in New York, Debbie Sisk has helped raise money for local K-9 police dogs.

"These dogs go to schools when there are bomb threats, if a family member gets lost they're called in to help find them, and you never know when this is going to happen to you, and you could need them tomorrow," explained Sisk.

The fundraiser is trying to raise $2, 050 to buy equipment for the dogs. The event is set for Saturday, from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., and Sunday from 12:30 p.m. until 5 p.m.
