Charlottesville Police said a woman found unconscious near the Charlottesville train tracks last night was nearly sexually assaulted. The woman said she was visiting friends near Douglas Avenue when three men approached her and began severely beating her.
"Three guys that she barely new approached her and indicated to her that they were going to attempt to sexually assault her. She put up quite a struggle. Thank goodness there was a citizen in the area that heard and called us," said Captain Harding, of the Charlottesville Police Department.
The police have two men in custody. Twenty-eight-year-old Howard Edman and twenty-three-year-old Jeremie Williams.
Police are still looking for the third suspect, 18-year-old Corey David Turner.
