After years of anticipation, Bodo's on the corner is finally open for business. The local bagel shop, which sits right across from UVA, opened at 7:00 this morning. By 1 p.m., over 1,000 customers had already stopped by. Despite the popularity of his other two locations, the owner claims he had no idea the grand opening would be such a hit.
"It's been very busy, we had a long line, [there were] a bunch of people waiting at the door when we opened and actually there was someone on the sidewalk with blankets that slept here to be the first one when it opened, so it was exciting," said Owner Brian Fox.
Fox cited personal reasons as to why the store took so long to open, but says he's glad it finally did. The new hours will run from 7 a.m. - 10 p.m.
