Albemarle County has been recognized for its information technology services for the third year in a row.

The County was ranked 8th in the nation for a cutting edge website. The Digital Counties Survey shows every winning website delivers high quality service to its customers and citizens based on the population.

Albemarle County said they're not surprised they ranked so high because they are constantly working with the community to make the website better.

"We think it's a real testimony to the fact that we are putting good productive items on the Web site and also it's really a testament to the community that they've embraced the Web site and are using it as a way to do business with local government," said Lee Catlin, an Albemarle County spokeswoman.

Albemarle is among only six Virginia jurisdictions ranked in the top 10 for various categories.
