Police believe they have found the man responsible for the first homicide in the town of Orange in several years. It took only 6 hours, but investigators believe they have their man. Keith Davis was arrested early Sunday morning and charged with First Degree murder in the case that has this small town of Virginia talking.

"Well, from what I know, it is a pretty quiet town. Not a lot goes on," said Orange resident Christopher Leach.

Christopher Leach has lived in Orange all of his life and has never heard of a case like this. But late Saturday night, the quiet town of Orange was rocked by a homicide.

"Officers from the Town of Orange Police Department were called to the intersection of Main Street and Madison Road here in the Town of Orange for a report of a subject who had possibly been stabbed," said Orange Police Chief James Fenwick.

When officers responded, they found 48-year-old Cyril T. Johnson suffering from stab wounds to the neck. He was pronounced dead on the scene. The investigation led police to 39-year-old Keith Davis who was allegedly upset over an argument between Johnson and a female earlier in the evening.

"Mr. Davis decided to interject himself [into the] argument after it had already happened, after the argument had already taken place," Fenwick said.

Davis was arrested and charged with first degree murder. Officers also recovered a weapon they believe was used in the incident. This incident has got the town talking.

"Yeah people have been talking about it a lot," Leach said.

"It's been several years since we've had any kind of homicide or manslaughter or any type of case like that," Fenwick said.

Davis is being held at the Central Virginia Regional Jail with no bond. A bond hearing is set for Wednesday at Orange General District Court. Davis faces up to life in prison if he is convicted.
