They could be living on your street or even next door, but now the U.S Justice Department is helping your keep track of where they are.
Virginia is one of 21 states making their registered sex offenders available on the U.S. Justice Department's website.
Virginia's registry is already online. The new site now shows if someone convicted in one state has moved to another. There are more than 500 thousand registered sex offenders in the country.
