The downtown Charlottesville sky-line won't be seeing any drastic changes anytime soon. Tuesday night city officials passed a motion which says new buildings in downtown Charlottesville can't be taller than 50-feet.
Previously, the limit was 101-feet. The ordinance now goes to the city council for approval.
“We've seen the mall really grow and increase and it's a very viable area now but we want to keep what's here what makes it really a great place,” said Kay Slaughter, Advisory Committee Member.
There are new exceptions to the new proposal. With special permission builders can still build higher than 50ft.
