It seems as though Charlottesville just doesn't stop when it comes to receiving awards. This time our area's one of seven being recognized as the "Top Livable Communities for all Ages." The award is based on the '2020' plan which was compiled by the Jefferson Area Board of Aging.
The plan is based on efforts to make a community a more supportive place for seniors by the year 2020.
"It's really a wonderful recognition of the thinking of the community leaders and also of the organizations and the people in our community," said Mick Heckman of JABA.
Some of the areas outlined in the 2020 plan include affordable housing, access to civic opportunities and affordable healthcare.
