Police officers from Albemarle County, along with mutual aid from the Charlottesville Police, responded to a call for a stabbing at the McDonald's in Pantops tonight.

Once they arrived at the restaurant on Stony Point Road, officers found four people believed to be homeless, in the parking lot near a wooded area. One of the people was a man with wounds on his face. The wounds were not from a stabbing, so police are trying to figure out where they came from.

A witness at the scene says the man with injuries was beating himself against a tree. He has been taken to the University of Virginia Medical Center for treatment. Albemarle County Police are continuing the investigation.

If you have any information, you should call Albemarle County Crimestoppers at (434) 977-4000.
