Here is an update to a story we reported earlier last week. Police have made an arrest in connection with a Peeping Tom investigation.
Police have arrested 26-year-old David Lee Long, Junior, in connection with these incidents.
Long is charged with three counts of breaking and entering and one count of peeping. The charges stem from a series of incidents that began back in May of this year. The most recent one was yesterday along Cherry Avenue when a graduate student woke up to find a man kneeling at her bedside. She screemed and he then left.
Through their investigation, police were able to piece the incidents together and zero in on Long which resulted in last night's arrest.
"He lives in the area where these incidents occurred and his criminal history is consistent with that type of behavior, " said Charlottesville Police Chief Tim Longo.
Police say Long has a pretty lengthy rap sheet and is currently on probation. At one point he was suspected in the serial rape investigation but was eliminated.
In addition to Thursday's peeping tom incident, Long is also suspected in three burglaries in the Cherry avenue, Broad, and Baker street areas. He is currently being held without bond.
